



In Detroit and beyond, food sovereignty is not a trend…it is daily practice. It lives in backyard beds, community gardens, seed exchanges, shared meals, and in the hands of growers who understand nourishment as both care and resistance. When our government shuts down due to bureaucratic fights for power rooted in capitalism, it is our neighbors who nourish us. Those planting seeds of hope for a better future do the work when the air is cold and the ground is still firm.
